This Singaporean based company stands firm against illegal fishing and works with suppliers to uphold human rights and labour standards in the fishing industry. We chose the tantalizing tuna & Crab flavour in an 80g tin. The usually fussy Backer enjoyed this canned food and its watery consistency.

Applaws is our regular ‘go-to’ cat food not only because the cats love it but it is readily available. The brand offers a range of tinned cat food with limited, natural ingredients, and it’s popular among cat owners looking for a simple and clean diet for their pets. It’s widely available in supermarkets as well as specialist pet stores and online, making it a convenient choice. For this taste test, we used the Applaws Wet Cat Food Tuna with Prawn and their bowls were clean – a sign of kitty satisfaction.

I hadn’t heard of this brand before purchasing it from Pet Circle. It is an Australian brand owned by Pet Circle. We tried 3 varieties of the brand, and the chicken was by far the favourite. The cat’s loved the watery broth – even Backer the fussiest of our two taste testers was keen. All of their recipes are made with real meat or fish, and are free from artificial colours and preservatives.

Trilogy cat food utilises high quality, unique protein sources to create the most natural diet for cats possible. All Trilogy diets are carefully formulated by pet nutritionists to ensure your feline friend gets everything they need, but this was a little on the dense side for our two broth lovers, but the brand offers some interesting dry food we will sample next.

The cats like this soupy food and there was hardy any leftovers – an indication it was a hit!

We sampled the Grain Free Chicken Pate Wet Cat Food. The tin comes in a larger size than the others, which can be useful if you are feeding more than one cat. Due to the size, the price is a little more expensive. This product contains succulent chicken from NZ that is free from growth hormones, and antibiotics. Slow-cooked, this deluxe chicken pate is said to delivers whole new level of nourishment and satisfaction for your cat.
Our taste testers were very interested in this food at first sample but they left quite a lot of it in the dish creating wastage. Again, it’s a pate, which was quite dense, so if your cats prefer the more brothy blends, they may not go for this.

Despite its healthy ingredients, neither cat was a huge fan of the tinned food probably because they prefer more broth-based blends. We sampled Ziwi Peak Daily Cuisine Chicken 85g.
This tinned food is quite dense and perhaps a bit too strong smelling for my two fussy eaters. They much prefer the Ziwi Pet Proveance Series Air Dried East Cape Recipe Dry Cat.
